BURBERRY: Black & Blue Label- Tokyo, Japan

You may have seen the Burberry Black or Blue Label ads in various magazines, but have you ever question for the difference? When I first saw the '09 ad campaign for the Black Label in the back pages of an Ocean Drive & a GQ Magazine, I thought it was just a creative marketing for the trendy black monograms.
Apparently after doing my research, I find out that Burberry Black&Blue Labels are only available in Japan. I also find out beyond its exclusivity, the line is also design differently, it uses different material. Burberry Blue (Japan) bought the license from Burberry London. The Burberry Blue Label open an exclusive store for WOMEN/FEMME in Tokyo Japan. The Blue Label(women) line is in fact of more better, consistent built quality. The sewing isn't better than the Burberry London line, it is only thicker and not as subtle as the Japanese line.

In the other hands the Burberry Black Label is the MEN/L'HOMME line, still remain a British fashion label with the iconic checkered patterning, but available only in Japan. The Burberry Black is a full men’s line that continues its parent label’s tradition of offering shirts, pants, suits, trench coats, and accessories, but is geared towards a younger, trendy audience. The spring/summer 2009 collection from Burberry Black is now available, but if you can’t travel to Japan to see items in person, the label’s ad campaign and Web site should give you a good idea of what it has to offer.
