Good Friday: Good Friday seven local pastors and spiritual leadership will collaborate for a Good Friday service centering the final words of Jesus. This will be the 2nd year that Christ Church has hosted the ecumenical service, which is designed for noon to 3 p.m. tomorrow. In a tradition that began as early as the twelfth century, the service is 3 hours long to excogitate the 3 hours that Jesus hung on the cross, told the Rev. Patrick Gray, priest-in-charge at Christ Church. But do not allow that deter you, he said. Attendees don't have to detain for all 3 hours and are receive to come and go throughout the service. "It is a big way to bring the spiritual community collectively approximately the cross," said Gray, who became pastor of Christ Church in Oct 2009. The service will be broken into 7 portions, all led by other pastor and centering one of the final 7 words Christ spoke on the cross. Having 7 speakers from varying backgrounds will bring 7 another perspectives and interpretations, Gray said. The portions most wish a church in miniature will have a brief sermon, and those assisting will sing hymns, say prayers, recite psalms and reflect in quiet.Good Friday
