New Delhi, Jul 18: It may have garnered a huge response from cinegoers across the country but the Mohit Suri-directed 'Murder 2' has also earned flak from several quarters for its depiction of women as mere sleazy sex objects.
"Audiences are wooed with bold subjects but end up getting a raw deal as these films lack content and a good storyline. Murder 2 is a case in point and though I have a lot of regard for Mr Mahesh Bhatt as a film maker, I was really disappointed to see his latest presentation," says producer Rahul Mittra'.
Rahul Mittra, who is ready with his production venture 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster', asserts that women have been often portrayed as sleazy sex objects in Indian cinema and that 'Murder 2' is a continuation of this trend.
Rahul asserts that his forthcoming flick 'Saheb biwi aur gangster' would redefine women protagonists in Indian cinema.
"SBAG will set some trends in the industry. As opposed to Jacqueline in 'Murder 2', Mahie Gill's character in 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster' represents a woman who knows what she wants and works towards achieving it. She's a woman on top and in control," he says.
"Our film is much more bolder than 'Murder 2' and thankfully richer in content. The audiences will surely love our twisted tale of lust and betrayal," Rahul said.
Directed by ace director Tigmanshu Dhulia and produced by Rahul Mittra's Brandsmith Motion Pictures, 'Saheb Biwi aur Gangster' is slated to hit screens in September.
The film's theatrical promo was launched on a grand scale with the release of 'Zindagi Na Miley Dobara' and the internet on July 15, garnering rave reviews across cine-goers, critics and Bollywood at large.
Starring Jimmy Shergill, Mahie Gill, Randeep Hooda, Vipin Sharma, Shreya Narayan, Deepal Shaw and Deepraj Rana, this much awaited movie is slated for a September release.
