Department of Education has closed its program review on University of Phoenix, finding that the Apolllo Group Inc. subsidiary has made acceptable corrections to its federal financial aid plans. In its Expedited last Program Review Determination Letter, the federal education department said it reviewed the way UOP administers the Title IV financial aid program, according to filings with the U.S.A. Securities and Exchange Commission. For example, the United States Department of Education had cited UOP for not properly conducting exit counseling audiences when students withdraw or graduate. But now that UOP is in the process of identifying students who failed to all their required exit counseling, UOP is sending follow up emails to students with a link that enables them to access the education department’s interactive internet site to complete the exit interview requirements. The education department has accepted these corrective actions and ending that case. Other compliance issues also have been addressed and all findings have been closed, according to the SEC filings.
