“Contagion” Could Eventually Knock 'Help' Out Of Top Box Office Slot

“Contagion” Could Eventually Knock 'Help' Out Of Top Box Office Slot: With one of the best models of the year and an easy concept to understand, action thriller "contagion" is set in the ground as the first movie of the weekend, a drama directed by "The Help" from the last three weeks. Is also hitting theaters will be R rated comedy "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star" and the action film "Warrior", though both are hitting less than 2,000 rooms in total and could have trouble finding much of the audience . Telling the story of a frightening global pandemic, "contagion" has an impressive cast that includes Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Wins let, Jude Law and Marion Lorillard, providing people with a lot of familiar faces. Also the promotion of "contagion" this weekend is virtually no real competition for adult audiences outside the "Help", which worked very well with the public, but is entering his week to end the fifth. Though "Contagion" deals with a dark subject, similar material has done well in theaters before. Despite an R-rating, "Outbreak" made a solid $67 million in the U.S. and $189 million worldwide with its well-known cast and high concept. "Contagion" also rated PG-13, which allows you to use a larger audience this weekend. More often, the acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh "Traffic," "Sex, Lies and Videotape" makes low-budget films for a relatively small audience, something we've seen each of his last three releases. But this weekend seems to be a different story, as "contagion" concept of business much more could be combined to give the first survey launched from Soderbergh "Ocean Thirteen" in 2007. Look for the "contagion" to finish in the range of $ 20 to $ 25 million, a total which ultimately should boost "aid" to number two in the box office. After the "contagion" is the new publishing environment theaters this weekend basically translates into a crapshoot. The release of the second largest of the action the weekend of the film "Warrior", but it is striking those 1700 rooms in total for Lions Gate and almost no buzz on the merits in the slot. With a smaller audience overlap "contagion", "warrior" just had a very difficult time to take off this weekend, and may land outside the top ten. R-rated comedy "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star" is another issue that is likely to struggle this weekend. Despite a total lack of competition, "Larson Bucky" hamstringed is by a few 1400 theatrical releases, which shows lack of confidence that Sony Columbia has the ability of film to find a wide audience. "Bucky Larson" was co-written by Adam Sandler, but it's not going to leave. Expect "Bucky Larson" in the struggle to get even $ 5 million and the press in the top five this weekend. “Contagion” Could Eventually Knock 'Help' Out Of Top Box Office Slot.
