Not Steelers Transmissions Means A Day Of Brown Bars Erie

Not Steelers Transmissions Means A Day Of Brown Bars Erie: Local sports bars and taverns wait a touchdown of their own when the NFL season reaches full speed today. Two of the most popular teams in the region of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns will not be shown on local television. This means that fans of both teams poured into the area businesses that DirecTV and the notes of the National Football League on Sunday. "It will be crazy," said Tony Barilla, general manager of Buffalo Wild Wings, 2075 Road interchange. "We opened at 11 am and there will be people waiting to enter" The NFL does not allow WSEE, TV; CBS affiliate Erie, to broadcast games of the Browns and Steelers, which start at 13:00. The station must broadcast the Buffalo Bills game at Kansas City, which also kicks off at 1 p.m., because Erie is within Buffalo's home market. WFXP, TV, the region's Fox affiliate, can't televise the Pittsburgh or Cleveland games, either, because its NFL contract is for the broadcast of NFC teams. Pittsburgh travels to Baltimore, while Cleveland hosts Cincinnati all four teams play in the AFC North. That means Patty Bishop will have a busy day behind the bar at Andy's Pub, 3866 Peach St. "We will probably run out of draft glasses and pitchers," Bishop said. "It's the first Sunday with football, and there are blackout games. I expect we will have extra servers on hand to deal with the crowd." Both Bishop and Barilla offered the same advice for people who want to watch their beloved Steelers or Browns with some degree of comfort. "We're telling people to get here by 11:30 if they want a seat," Bishop said. "We will be full." Denise Agnello, owner of Mike's Sportsbar & Grill, 2208 Rice Ave., Lake City, said her business typically gets about 30 customers when the Steelers and Browns are televised locally. On Sunday, she expects more than 100 people to be glued to the five screens in her tavern. "It will be wall-to-wall people in here, standing room only," Agnello said. "We love it when the games aren't on TV." Not Steelers Transmissions Means A Day Of Brown Bars Erie.
